Google Business Profile Reinstatement for Dental & Healthcare Practices

When a Google Business Profile gets suspended, the effects show up fast: the practice drops out of Maps and local search, the phone stops ringing, and new-patient inquiries dry up almost overnight. For multi-provider practices, a suspension can wipe out both the practice listing and individual doctor profiles at the same time, along with years of accumulated reviews.

Eprompt’s team resolves suspended and disabled Google Business Profiles for dental, oral surgery, orthodontic, periodontal, endodontic, and other healthcare practices.

Because we build and manage provider-level and practice-level profiles every day, we know exactly how Google evaluates healthcare listings and what it takes to get a suspended profile back online.

Not sure whether your listing is already at risk of suspension? Start with a free practice scan, or book a consultation and our team will review your current Google Business Profile with you.

What a suspension actually costs a practice

Your listing disappears from Google Search and Maps, so the practice stops showing up for the exact searches – by treatment, by doctor’s name, by “near me” – that typically drive new-patient calls.
Any reviews attached to the profile go dark. For a multi-provider practice using per-doctor review requests, that can mean losing social proof for several providers at once, not just the practice as a whole.

Referral and insurance-directory traffic that depends on an accurate, verified Google listing has nowhere to land, so it quietly shifts to competing practices nearby.

The longer a profile sits suspended, the more directory and citation data can drift out of sync, which complicates the eventual reinstatement.

Common reasons dental & healthcare profiles get suspended

Google doesn’t usually explain which guideline triggered a suspension, and healthcare practices run into a few patterns more than most other business categories:

Provider name or title issues

listing a doctor under a name, degree, or specialty that doesn’t match how they’re licensed and represented elsewhere online.

Duplicate or overlapping profiles

separate listings for the same provider at the same location, or a practice profile and a provider profile that conflict with each other.

Shared-address conflicts

multiple providers or specialties operating from one suite without Google being able to verify each listing independently.

Review pattern flags

a sudden spike in reviews, especially when review requests aren’t clearly tied to a real patient visit or provider.

Category or service-area mismatches

categories, procedures, or service areas listed that don’t match what the practice’s website and other citations say.
Most suspensions fall into one of two categories: a soft suspension, where the profile is unverified but may still be partially visible, or a hard suspension, where the listing is removed from Search and Maps entirely. Either way, the fix starts with figuring out exactly what triggered it.
OUR PROCESS

How Eprompt handles your reinstatement

$

Diagnostic review

We start by reviewing the suspended profile against Google’s current guidelines for healthcare and medical listings, along with your practice’s website, directory citations, and review history, to identify the likely cause.
$

Compliance fixes

We correct anything that’s out of alignment – provider naming, categories, address details, duplicate listings – and cross-check it against your practice’s other online profiles for consistency, the same work covered in our NAP consistency and directory management process.
$

Evidence-backed appeal

We prepare and submit the reinstatement appeal, including whatever documentation Google requests to verify the practice, and we write and manage that submission on your behalf so nothing gets lost in translation between a dental practice and a Google review team.
$

Follow-through until it's resolved

We track the case, respond to Google’s follow-up requests, and keep you updated until the profile is restored and fully optimized again — the same ongoing management we provide as part of our Google Business Profile service.

Why practices trust Eprompt with a suspended listing

Healthcare-specific experience – with 25+ years of combined experience working with dental and medical practices, we’ve seen the suspension patterns that are specific to provider and practice-level listings.
We fix root causes, not just symptoms – an appeal without a compliance fix tends to fail a second time, so we bring the profile into alignment before we appeal.
Provider + practice expertise built in – because we already manage combined provider and practice Google Business Profiles for multi-doctor practices, we understand how a suspension at one level can affect the other.
Reinstatement is only the first step – once your profile is back, we can keep it optimized, monitor it for future risk, and pair it with custom website content and consistent directory listings so the practice keeps ranking.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How long does a reinstatement take?

It depends on the complexity of the case and how quickly Google’s team responds. Straightforward soft suspensions can move faster; hard suspensions or cases involving multiple providers usually take longer. We work each case as quickly as Google’s process allows and keep you posted at every stage.

Can I try to fix this myself first?

You can, and some practices do. The challenge is that Google rarely states the exact guideline that triggered the suspension, and an appeal submitted without fixing the underlying issue can make the next attempt harder. Bringing us in early, especially for multi-provider practices, usually shortens the timeline.

Will my reviews come back?

In most reinstatement cases, reviews tied to the profile return once the listing is restored. Part of our review is confirming that review activity itself isn’t a contributing factor to the suspension.

Do you also handle new Google Business Profile setup?

Yes. Beyond reinstatement, we build and manage new provider and practice profiles as part of our core Google Business Profile service, including merging duplicate listings and setting up Google review requests for each provider.
